What is your fee?
My base fee is $150 (includes HST) per session. I am proud to offer sliding scale rates.
If you require a sliding scale fee, please inquire by email or during our first phone consultation.
What is sliding scale?
Depending on your financial situation and therapy needs, I do adjust my hourly fee to meet your needs. I realize that therapy is an investment and I try my best to provide reasonable rates to ensure my mental health services are accessible.
What is Psychotherapy?
Psychotherapy is a controlled act and can only be performed by a Registered Psychotherapist (RP). Psychotherapy is considered talk-based therapy and is intended to help people improve and maintain their mental health and well-being (CRPO, 2020).
Why is the difference between a psychologist vs. psychiatrist vs. psychotherapist?
A great question! It is confusing because these three professionals overlap in many areas but also have their unique differences. In a nut shell, psychiatrists are medical doctors that specialize in mental health and mental disorders. Psychologist are trained to administered tests that aid in assessment and diagnosing. Psychotherapist are specifically trained in talk therapy, and do not assess or diagnose unless under the supervision of a clinical psychologist. Psychiatrist, psychologist, and other healthcare professions (e.g., Social Workers) often have the training to provide psychotherapy.
