It didn’t start out for me this way.
I once had a client tell me “Laura, time is linear and we expect our development to be linear too.” My journey, like many of yours, has been very non-linear. I found my career in psychotherapy when I began to find myself.
In 2012, I completed my first degree in business, but I quickly realized what I enjoyed the most was connecting and helping others. Upon having this realization, I then decided to do some personal and spiritual exploration, which involved learning about myself.
In 2016, my deep yearning to help others was a motivator to start volunteering and working within the field of addictions, supporting youth and their families struggling with addiction and concurrent disorders.
In 2019, I enrolled into the School of Counselling, Spirituality & Psychotherapy at Saint Paul University. Here I learned valuable skills on how to validate, support and help others heal their wounds.
Today, I feel fortunate to be able to dedicate my time and career to supporting others, helping them to seek self-understanding and heal. I am a Registered Psychotherapist (CRPO #10124) and I’m licensed to practice in the province of Ontario. Currently, I am offering in-person therapy to those in the Ottawa and surrounding area and virtual therapy (telephone or video) to anyone within the province of Ontario.
