My Practice.
I offer individual psychotherapy sessions to adults (+18 y.o.). Sessions are 50-minutes in length and are offered in-person to residents of the greater Ottawa area and virtually (telephone or video) to anyone in the province of Ontario.

My Approach.
My approach to therapy is eclectic which allows me to meet the unique needs and experiences of my clients. My primary practice uses an attachment-based psychodynamic approach which involves exploring early childhood learning and experiences, and their impact on adult behavioural patterns and defences. I also incorporate more specific modalities and approaches including:
- Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
- Cognitive Processing Therapy for PTSD
- Dialectic behaviour therapy (DBT)
- Mindfulness & Buddhist Psychology
- Multicultural & Spiritual Counselling
- Self-compassion
- Internal family systems (IFS)
About me.
Hi! My name is Laura McArthur-Gupta (she/her) and I’m passionate about supporting and empowering others. I am a Registered Psychotherapist (CRPO# 10124) and graduate student of the Counselling, Psychotherapy and Spirituality school at Saint Paul University, Ottawa, Ontario.
Prior to completing graduate school, I spent time in various fields including supporting young adults and their families coping with addiction and mental health, advocating for palliative care, and working in corporate culture. When I’m not supporting others, I am supporting myself. I enjoy cuddling with my dogs, reading & learning, rock climbing, gardening & hammocking.
